Dorset Fire Department is always looking for community minded people who are interested in becoming a Volunteer Firefighter.
Your expected committment is to attend bi-weekly training sessions (1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings of each month) and to attend all medical and fire emergencies when possible. We understand that people are out of town or unavoidably detained at work or otherwise cannot attend; however, this should be the exception, not the rule. Our committment to you is to ensure you are suitably trained for the level of response that you will be required to provide and to ensure that you have all the equipment and personal protection equipment that you require. Training opportunities include the regularly scheduled training nights as well as optional extra training at the Ontario Fire College in Gravenhurst. Contact Chief John Hogg for more information about volunteering. |
