| Canada Day Fireworks on Trading Bay, July 2, 2011 |
|
From land or by boat, this is one of the best fireworks displays
you will ever see. The community
puts on a fantastic fireworks display (view some pictures from 2009). Launched from Paul Greenaway's barge
(thanks Paul!) this show lights up the sky for miles around.
The display is operated by professionals, while
volunteers collect donations. So bring your money! Volunteers
will be on shore to collect your donations, and some of
us will be out on the water collecting donations from the boaters.
So when you come in look for the boats with the flashing lights and
make sure you pick up your Canada Flags and stickers and drop off a
donation. Each year's show is funded by the previous year's
donations.
We'll see you there! |
| Kawagama Lake Regatta, July 30, 2011

| Kawagama Lake Fireworks, July 30, 2011 |
|
Another incredible fireworks show is organized by Old Mill Marina in
conjunction with Mountain Trout
House. Volunteers will be back out again collecting
donations at this show. This show is also funded by donations. Bring
your boat to Kawagama Lake or come on out to Old Mill to watch from
shore. It is a great show! |
| Ironman Muskoka, September 11, 2011
|
 |
Now this is a race! This race has become so popular that it appears to have become a regular event in Muskoka.
Volunteers again provide drinks and snacks to the racers as they go
by. Check out their website for more
information. |
| Thanksgiving, October 9, 2011 |
 |
Unfortunately this event has been cancelled this year. |
| Christmas Tree Lighting, November 27 |
|
Come for the songs and for the lighting of the tree, stay for
the hot chocolate, hot dogs and great fellowship. This annual event
held at the Firehall is a great way to start off winter.
|
| Salvation Army Food Drive, December 7 |
|
Members of the community dress up in Santa suits and head out
in to the community collecting donations for the Salvation Army.
Leave your porch light on and Santa will stop by to pick up your
donations of dry or canned foods, toys and even cheques & cash!
If you have young children at home then make sure you let the
department know and Santa will drop off a gift for them.
Volunteers are always welcome to come and help
box up all the donations. Last year we delivered over 1 1/2 tons of
food to the Salvation Army. Thanks to everyone who donated.
